This is the little story that could. It demanded to be written and even though I took month long breaks from writing it, I was always thinking about it, always waiting to get back to it, and always wondering where the hell it was going since the whole started off as "Sam gets ____ and then Dean shows up"
It was seriously a one line idea and it's currently the longest one shot I've written. The original idea was a lot darker, but I couldn't make it work the way I wanted to. In my opinion this is a lot better anyway.
I want to thank all of you. 2011 has easily been the worst year of my life. I had very little to look forward to and practically nothing to make me happy, but I knew that every time I posted something I was going to get a few words of kindness from my friends. I'm not sure if I'd be posting this right now if it wasn't for that.
I really wanted this for Christmas, but it just didn't happen. Now you have the gift that keeps on giving, because I'll be posting a 10,000 work chunk at least once a month which means we're set until sometime in July.
Enjoy it guys, and thanks again, for everything.

I know I promised a Christmas story, but it just wasn't in the cards. My gastritis has been flaring up since I started working and it got unbearable at the beginning of November. I went to the doctor, got my medicine adjusted and for about a week all was well with the world. I wasn't waking up nauseous and I actually ate a little bit of acidic food.
As soon as I was back to normal I was struck down by the stomach virus to end all stomach viruses. It was vile and horrific and took me out of commission for almost a week. It also made me miss a wedding we had been planning for the better part of a year and I had been looking forward to since I started working.
Once the virus was gone I had a week of dealing with aches and pains caused by violent projectile vomiting. As soon as that started to get better I slipped in the shower, fell out of the shower, and landed flat on my back on the bathroom floor. (seriously, I can't make this shit up)
And to top it all off I now have a cold so severe that I want to put a bullet in my head. I can't breathe through my nose at all, my throat is on fire, and I'm being a total bitch because that's how I roll.
Anyway, for those reasons and my completely unmanageable anxiety I was unable to finish the story or even attempt to edit what I had already written. It will get done, I promise, and when it's posted it'll be glorious.

Happy Thanksgiving to all my American friends, and happy Thursday to everyone else.
Work has been insane which means I have very little time to write, but I am still writing, just very slowly. I probably won't have anything to post before the end of the month, but I will have a special Christmas present in December, no matter what it takes.
I'm good though and I hope everyone else is as well! |
