As a double twin daddy Sam always wanted to treat the kids as fairly as he possibly could. When Ethan and Evan were born he was so worried about favoring one and ignoring the other but that never really happened when they were babies. They both screamed constantly and they both got the attention they needed. When they got a little older it became even less on an issue because they made things very easy by demanding two of everything. When Sam bought them clothes or shoes he bought two, same went for toys and books, pretty much everything. If Ethan wanted a kiss from Dean, Evan would have to get one too. When Evan got four chicken nuggets there had to be four waiting for Ethan. In hindsight they were pretty easy to please, but then Sam went and knocked Amy up with twins again.

After Ethan and Evan were born everyone kept saying that the fertility drugs Amy was taking were responsible for twins. They didn’t seem to realize that those drugs just made her drop more eggs, and that Ethan and Evan were one egg and one sperm. If they were twins because of the drugs they wouldn’t have been absolutely identical, like Mary and Milo. They were the result of two eggs being fertilized by two sperm and then shoved up inside of Amy, at least that’s what happened according to Ethan.

Since it had been so easy to be fair with Ethan and Evan, Sam foolishly expected the same thing from Mary and Milo, but that wasn’t the case at all. The older they got the more different they became and they seemed set on not having fairness at all. If Mary was playing with a toy Milo wanted someone to read to him. If he was crawling around she wanted to be held. When she ate he decided to poop. When Dean held her she loved all over him and when he held Milo he got peed on. They couldn’t have been more different and eventually Sam decided to stop trying to treat them fairly.

He had been considering it for a while and finally made a decision on Wednesday morning. He had to go to the grocery and he had already promised Milo he could supervise. If he was going that meant Mary was supposed to go as well so he wouldn’t be going on an adventure while she had to stay at home. Sam’s plan was to take them both but she wanted nothing to do with the grocery. She was far more concerned with talking to James about ponies and actually started yelling when Sam tried to get her ready. She didn’t really seem that interested in getting out of the house. She loved to be outside but whenever Sam took her somewhere she was just bored out of her mind.

Milo on the other hand just loved going on adventures with daddy. Sam assumed most of that was because people always said how cute he was and he never had a problem being reminded of that. If Mary didn’t want to go that was just fine and John even said he’d tag along. They were going to drop Ollie off at school before the grocery and he wanted to see just how hot Holly was in person. Ollie assured him that she was nearly as hot as Dean but John found that hard to believe.

Since it was Wednesday that meant that John was on the fourth day of his separation from Carol. Sam wanted to support him and be a good son, but John was really cramping his style. Just last night Sam was seconds away from gloriously sodomizing Dean when John barged right into the bedroom so they could all play cards. Sam absolutely refused because he was horny as fuck, but Dean was such a good son he invited John to join them but just for a card game. Sam eventually got to do Dean but John was still starting to get in the way. He seemed to really be devoted to spending quality time with everyone and even Jeremy had mentioned it.

He was doing amazingly well and Sam was so proud of him that he was on the look out for some kind of present. Normally Jeremy was at the center as soon as it opened, but since Dean’s ultimatum he had been leaving later all week, taking a full hour off for lunch, and coming home early. Aaron had even mentioned to Sam that he was sleeping better and not nearly as ravenous when it came to love making. That made Sam feel bad but then Aaron said it was a good thing because he couldn’t handle Jeremy full force all the time.

Since Mary was completely uninterested in an adventure Sam just got Milo and Ollie dressed. The twins were already in the basement with Craig and Mikey was on his way to Juilliard. Normally Dean was in charge of getting Ollie to daycare but he was way too busy outside patiently waiting for his secret headquarters. It had really come amazingly fast, even faster than Sam’s stones which weren’t arriving until Friday. The cabin was in big pieces on the back of a truck and all Dean had to do was figure out where it was going. He had scoped out a few places for it and Alex agreed with all of them but he had yet to nail down a final spot.

Dean had already given everyone hugs and kisses before he went outside so Sam loaded Milo into the car while John handled Ollie. The plan was to drop Ollie off, head to the grocery, and then make it back home. Sam still had about five hundred more bulbs to plant and he wanted that done before Friday when work would start on the path. He couldn’t have two garden projects going at once so he had to finish up the new tulip garden behind the garage.

Since it was just a day before his one week anniversary with Holly, Ollie was more talkative than usual on the ride to daycare. John was sitting in the front seat and he kept turning around when Ollie ordered him to because obviously he couldn’t pay attention if he wasn’t looking at him. Ollie had really been talking to John pretty often since they both liked girls, which was a rare thing among their friends. Sam found it funny that Ollie wanted advice from John but he still seemed to realize that his advice was only half good since he liked boys too, particularly Anthony. John said he didn’t like him like that but Ollie knew better.

When they arrived at the daycare Ollie had John put him in the front seat so he could check out a curls in the mirror. Apparently, despite them not moving at all, they were a mess and he had to spend five minutes twisting and finger combing them back into place. He did a lot of muttering about how Dean should have been there to do it for him and how Sam should have carried a pwoduct on him at all times, but he eventually got it done and put on his backpack just as neat as could be. Holly liked her man to look good and Ollie most certainly didn’t want to disappoint.

She had just arrived as well and was being checked in when Sam walked through the door with Milo. John was holding Ollie’s hand, but he pulled away as soon as he saw his girlfriend. Holly was with her mother whom Sam had yet to meet. Dean was going to be so pissed that he hadn’t brought Ollie because he was very interested in the woman. She was younger than Sam thought, and just as pretty as a picture. She apparently was getting quite an earful at home as well because as soon as she saw Sam she knew the precious prince had to be Holly’s one and only.

“Holly!”

“Ollie!”

“Oh, a lookin’ so nice today.” Ollie whispered. “Wha is it, a Dolke Bananna?”

“Wha! I don even know! Mommy! Is Ollie!”

“It’s very nice to meet you young, man.” The woman said as she squatted down. “Holly tells me you’re very special.”

“Oh indeed!” Ollie nodded. “Can The Beans just say wha a pleasure it is to meet you?”

“Uh…”

“A find your Holly jus wit a wondahful!”

“Thank…thank you!”

“And Holly, is daddy Sammy!”

“Wha!” Holly gasped. “A thought was wit a undahweah!”

“For work, baby, wit a work. This is a gwampa…uh…gwampa…John?”

“That’s right.” Sam laughed. “Grandpa John.”

“Holly, it’s so nice to meet you.” John said as he held out his hand. “You’re very pretty.”

“And you!” Holly said as she shook it. “Is not wit a glasses?”

“No.” Ollie frowned. “Daddy! Bring my baby down here to meet a Holly!”

“Absolutely!”

Sam squatted down so Holly could get a good look at Milo and she made a huge fuss over him but he didn’t approve at all. He was supposed to marry Ollie and some little girl sure as hell wasn’t going to take his place. He started yelling and hollering and wouldn’t calm down until Ollie gave him three kisses before reminding him that he was so sexy he needed a husband and a wife. That way someone could cook him dinner and slap him in the closet. Holly’s mother made a face at that remark, but Sam just shrugged it off and mentioned kid’s saying the craziest things.

She was already late for work so she couldn’t stay to chat but Sam did get her number so they could have her, her husband, and of course Holly over for dinner one night. That made Ollie just as happy as could be because if Holly was at his house, which he owned and operated, she could see the rest of his brothers, a Mawy, and Oinkers. Also he was pretty sure that Sam might make them pork chops which just so happened to be Holly’s favorite food, though she was also into hamburgers.

“Well, what’s the point of that?” John asked as they walked back outside. “There’s no thrill of conquest because she’s exactly the same as him.”

“Dad, clearly she’s his practice girl. He’s just trying her out before he goes back to Dean, his number one girl.”

“What if he meets someone else?”

“It’s Dean.” Sam laughed. “Who buys Spam when they can afford steak?”

“Good point.” John said. “Hey, why don’t the three of us go fishing this weekend? Or five of…well, I guess four since Aaron’s weekends are pretty booked. I thought we could go fishing at the river or we can just fish at the pond at home.”

“Fis…fishing?”

“Yeah.” John said before he tried to take Milo. “I thought….”

“Kwahbahdahbah! Inawabah!”

“Have you lost your damn mind?” Sam asked as he pulled Milo away. “Don’t hold him without his permission!”

“Wabahdah!”

“It’s okay baby.” Sam sighed. “He didn’t mean to upset you.”

“I was going to put him in his seat.”

“Which he prefers I do as I am the best.” Sam whispered. “Anyway, um…Dean and I are going to that party with Jensen and Jared on Friday so Saturday morning would be out and then Sunday is…your church day.”

“I could come with you two.”

“It’s not their party.” Sam said. “Sean and Dan are throwing it.”

“Oh, well, I’ll just hang out with the kids.”

“Okay, they’ll be at Michael’s house. He wanted to watch them Friday night with Alex and Ryan.”

“We could do something Sunday afternoon.”

“Yeah…maybe.”

“It’s a plan!” John said as he slapped Sam on the back. “Hey, gimme the keys, I’ll drive.”

“Wahbah.”

“Tell me about it.” Sam whispered. “I’m gonna need your toes very soon.”

Milo nodded and then presented his cheek so Sam could give him a little sugar. That was more than enough to ease the pain and Sam was able to climb into the backseat with him with a minimal of groaning. He probably should have sat in the front with John because they had a whole driving Mr. Sammy thing going on, but that was okay and they both had a laugh about it.

Because he wasn’t driving Sam had a chance to go over his list which he had stored in Milo’s pants for safe keeping. He went to the grocery about three times a week, but once a month he had to do big groceries at Costco. He loved the big warehouse places because he could stock up on things they used all the time like forty-eight pounds of pasta, nine gross of diapers, and gigantic packs of Spotty treats. Sam wasn’t planning on big groceries but once he thought about it he figured it was for the best. Not only could he get the stuff they needed but he could do something nice for Dean as well.

John realized what was going on after they were walking around for about five minutes. Sam’s list was always very expected and there were some things that never appeared on it. He didn’t buy any cookies or cakes preferring to make them from scratch and he most certainly didn’t buy candy. The kids had something every now and then but candy was mostly completely foreign to them. Cookies, cakes and candies were exactly what Sam was loading up and even Milo looked a little confused because his favorite sweet treat was a carrot.

Sam got all kinds of snack cakes, cookies, and more candy than anyone would realistically need. John didn’t say anything for the longest time and he even put a gigantic box of Starbursts into the basket while trying to pretend like he hadn’t. That was fine with Sam and he was happy to buy John some candy. He could even keep it in the house as long as the kid’s didn’t see it.

“What the hell, Sam?” John asked. “Why are you buying all this crap?”

“For Dean and Alex to put in their clubhouse.” Sam said. “They need juice boxes too.”

“Seriously?”

“Well, yeah. They’re going to need snacks while they’re out there.”

“What do you really think about this whole clubhouse thing?” John asked. “Be honest.”

“Well…” Sam said before he sighed. “I think neither of them got to be kids, and for an hour or two a week they’ll get to hang out in their clubhouse and be twelve years old again.”

“He told me I couldn’t play with them.”

“He told me the same thing.”

“Doesn’t that piss you off?” John asked. “I’m a little pissed off. I think they’re heterophobic.”

“I’m not.” Sam laughed. “Dad, Dean works his ass off everyday. In fact he’s never actually had a break. As long as he doesn’t neglect me or the kids he can do what he wants and I’m going to support him.”

“I think it’s a little weird.”

“Maybe it is but he’s not hurting anyone and he deserves a place of his own. If I wanted to become a trapeze artist he’d let me do it.”

“What the fuc…what does that have to do with anything!”

“I’m just saying if I told him that being a trapeze artist would make me happy you can be damn sure he’d build me something to practice on with a great big safety net.”

“Anbahwahbay.”

“That was just an example, baby, don’t worry.”

Sam didn’t care what it was, if he told Dean he wanted to do something he’d have his complete support and encouragement. Being thirty-three and spending a large chunk of money on a clubhouse was a little strange but some people did a lot weirder things. Sam was actually kind of looking forward to Dean spending some time at the cabin. If he was there Sam would get more time with the kids and when he earned an invitation to the cabin he was going to be so happy. John was really considering that for a while and eventually he seemed like he got it since he tossed in another pack of cookies for good measure.

Since Sam was shopping he decided to stock up on things like mouthwash and dental floss. He also wanted to get Jeremy and Aaron some gigantic bottles of shampoo. Jeremy was always making fun of Sam for buying shampoo that was twenty dollars a bottle so he decided to buy him an enormous bottle that was like fifteen cents. It was right by all the first aid stuff and some other things which John tried to slyly toss into the cart. Sam noticed the Starbursts and he most certainly noticed the Astroglide.

“Dad?”

“Sammy?” John asked as he picked up some Tylenol. “Oh, look this comes in pill form now. I heard if you crush these you can snort them like blow off your bitch’s tits.”

“Why are you buying lube?”

“Keep your voice down!” John whispered. “Look, now the baby is all confused.”

“Kwabah!”

“Do…do you use lube?”

“Occasionally.” John said as he covered Milo’s ears. “This is hardly the time or the place.”

“Do you put stuff up your butt?”

“What?”

“Do you put your fingers in your butt?”

“Sam, come on! Be for real!”

“It’s a very simple question.” Sam said as he raised his voice some. “Are you buying a personal lubricant to anally stimulate yourself?”

“I like it when I masturbate!”

“Anally.”

“Shut up!”

“You know this may just be one of those things you hear in the locker room, but apparently women…” Sam said. “Women are self lubricating and when you’re married you don’t have to beat off in your son’s basement. You can put your penis in your wife.”

“Pft.”

“Dad, you know Dean and I are more than okay with you beating off in the basement, but it’s been four days. You’re going to have to talk to her eventually.”

“No.”

“Then I’ll call the lawyers and you can drive to the city to talk to them.”

“There’s a guy in town that I like.”

“Wow, you’re…” Sam laughed. “You went gay quicker than I thought possible. Is he the top because he can join my club with Anthony.”

“A lawyer, smartass.” John said. “There’s a guy in town that’s supposedly really good so there’s no reason for me to go to the city. It can be over with quick and easy.”

“Dad…what are you…”

“Ah, diapers.”

John put two giant boxes of diapers under the cart and then busied himself with a whole rack of multivitamins. Sam wasn’t really having fun anymore and he was almost positive that John was serious about finding a lawyer. If him and Carol really got divorced Dean was going to just be devastated and the kids wouldn’t know what to think. He had to be joking because even if he had problems with Carol he’d be divorcing Mary too. Sam was actually a little pissed off because considering divorce after one hurtful comment was just ridiculous.

“Dad. Tell me you’re not serious.”

“I’m just looking at my options.”

“You’re going to divorce both of them because Carol hurt your feelings?” Sam asked. “Why the fuck does it matter what she says? You and I both know I wasn’t just running from you.”

“Don’t curse in front of the baby.” John whispered. “This isn’t just about one thing she said. We’ve been having problems for a while.”

“Since when?”

“Just for a while now. I don’t…I don’t have to talk about it all the time. She was pissed at me for making the deal and I was mad that she never told us she was back. She thought going to Paris was a horrible idea and…you know she thinks I’m the worst father in the world.”

“Dad, you’re not.”

“Right.” John laughed. “So Dean’s not building a secret headquarters to reclaim his childhood because of me?”

“Well, maybe, but…you know he likes stuff like that and it’s mostly for Alex. Don’t tell me you’re giving up on your marriage because you think you’re a bad father.”

“I know I’m not a bad father anymore.” John shrugged. “I’d do anything for you four. I wouldn’t let anyone hurt you or any of the kids. I do my best. I did my best with Carol and your mother and I’m not going to keep trying when it doesn’t get me anywhere. I’m not going to hold them back either.”

“Hold them back?”

“Like if they met someone.”

“Have…has she?” Sam whispered. “Dad, did either of them…”

“I’m just saying, Sammy. I’m not making an appointment, but I might one day soon.”

“Dad…”

“You two are so lucky.” John smiled. “No one’s in love like you two are.”

“Talk to me.” Sam said. “Come on, let’s just walk and we can…”

“Free samples of hot dogs!” John gasped. “Sammy, is he old enough to have hot dogs?”

“No, dad, he’s not.”

“We’ll find you something, buddy.” John said before he kissed Milo. “Gimme some kisses.”

Normally Milo would have backhanded John into next week for kissing on him right in front of Sam without permission, but he let him do it and then he even kissed him back. A few minutes later he even got squirmy and Sam had John hold him and he didn’t yell or holler once.

Superman didn’t have shit on Dean because his fortress of solitude was just a big frozen crapsicle when compared to the “Super Best Friends Totally Awesome and Spectacular Top Secret Hot Top Hideout.” That was the name Dean was rallying for but Alex thought the “Honeybunch Hideout” was more appropriate. Whatever they called it didn’t really matter because their headquarters was the coolest fucking thing Dean had ever seen in his life. Not only was it huge and top secret, but watching it go together was just amazing.

When the cabin arrived it was in pieces on the back of a big flat bed truck. Dean was so disappointed because he wanted it ready for when Alex got back from the city and he knew there was no way that was going to happen. He very nearly called the company to complain but then he thought that kind of made him a bitch so he moped around and kicked the dirt a lot. Fifteen minutes later the truck and delivery men were gone and Dean was in the middle of his hideout planning world domination.

It actually took the three men longer to get the truck to through the woods behind the house than it did for them to set the cabin up. Once they were back there it went incredibly fast and if Dean had blinked for longer than a second he was sure he would have missed something. They men rolled out a foundation first and then worked to get the body of the cabin off the truck. They tightened a few bolts, lifted on the roof, and then handed over the keys to the front door. It was totally solid and totally fucking awesome.

In his first act as the president of the super best friends club Dean farted right in the middle of the cabin mostly because he hadn’t done it in eight years and Sam had actually forbid flatulence in the house. He didn’t make the rules anymore and Dean was actually looking forward to farting whenever he felt like it since he had a place to do it. It was actually a sad little squeaker that sounded like something Milo would make if his tummy got poked too many times but Dean still thought it was totally manly.

After farting Dean walked out the backdoor and peed against a tree. The cabin didn’t have a bathroom or electricity so he was going to have to get used to tinkling outside. That was just fine with him and he even brazenly shook his penis at the wild woods to assert his dominance as a big man. No one was out there to see it, not even a bunny rabbit, but it still made Dean feel like he was on top of the world.

Farting and pissing was just the beginning because Dean had the cabin built and it’d have to be set up before Alex got home. That was easy enough because Dean had already bought all the supplies he needed yesterday. They were in a big box on the back of his four-wheeler and Dean brought them right inside the cabin before putting them on the floor. He really needed a table maybe and then some big plaid recliners, but until he got those he had to put stuff on the floor.

His box contained a six pack of beer, a box of cigars, a lighter, and more gay porn than you could shake a stick at. Most of the porn was donated from Anthony who so clearly wanted an invitation to the hideout but Dean wasn’t falling for that at all. Unfortunately the majority of the porn happened to be in DVD format and Dean didn’t have a television, a player, or electricity to power either. He was thinking about a generator but ideally he wanted to have some power run out to the cabin if Sam said that was okay. He could do without water because real men pissed in the woods but he did need power.

Once Dean was sure the coast was clear he sat against the wall with a unlit cigar in his mouth and decided to peruse some gay porn. Anthony had three magazine and Dean was going to read them all and maybe pinch his nipples. Alex had already said he planned on using the cabin as a place to masturbate, but Dean didn’t do that unless Sam’s open mouth was in front of his fist. He was just going to look and maybe get some ideas which he thought was okay because Sam did the exact same thing with Martha Stewart Living.

Anthony had once again proven that he was the world’s biggest bitch because Dean was just getting into a little casual nipple play when he flipped the page and saw a print out of John. He immediately threw the magazine across the cabin, but the next one he picked up had another salacious bare-chested GILF in it. That totally ruined Dean’s happy time feelings and while he thought about tossing out the printed pictures of John he decided to leave them for Alex.

Just when Dean was thinking about drinking a warm beer and smoking his cigar he heard a light rapping on the door. That reminded him he’d have to think of a secret knock and maybe get some sort of optical identification program to keep out intruders. Dean was pretty sure they could at least get finger print scanners so that no one else could get in. He had so many good ideas and he couldn’t wait to make a big list with Alex.

“Identify yourself.”

“It’s me.” Sam said. “Sammy.”

“What’s the password?”

“Brotherfucker?”

“Anngh!”

“Fudgepacker?”

“Nope.” Dean said. “Try again.”

“Um…” Sam said before he paused. “Oh, Ass Sucker!”

“Damn he’s good.” Dean whispered. “You can look but you can’t…”

Dean got the door open and then just sort of took a step back. Normally he did that because Sam was so handsome, but now he was doing it because Sam had a wagon full of stuff behind him. There was a whole bunch of food, a very plain rug, and some pillows and blankets all brand new. Seeing all the stuff really got to Dean because he had sort of excluded Sam from hanging out with them even after Alex said it was okay. Alex wanted Sam involved and Dean decided he did too especially after he saw all the candy.

“Sammy.”

“I’m not going to come in but I got you guys some snacks and a rug, it’s plain gray and I ordered two recliners but they can’t deliver until Friday.”

“You bought us recliners?”

“And a table.” Sam said. “Very butch, I think it’s for a garage.”

“Sammy, that’s really sweet, come…come on in.”

“Is…” Sam said as he peer inside. “Is it okay with Alex?”

“Yeah, it is.”

“My wagon is a little muddy, I’ll help you unpack it.”

“You’re adorable, Sammy.”

“Well, I try.”

Dean really felt sorry for anyone who never had the pleasure of seeing Sam walk through the woods pulling a little red Radio Flyer loaded with candy. It was just about the sweetest thing Dean had ever seen and he was looking forward to maybe having a moon pie and some juice instead of a warm beer and his cigar. Sam had bought so much stuff that it took them three trips to get it all inside, but eventually they got the job done. Sam wasted no time once he was inside either. He unfurled the rug, threw down a pillow and then sat.

“Maybe we need more than two recliners.”

“I just wanted to see it.” Sam shrugged. “It looks great. How long did it take them?”

“Dude, like ten minutes. They had this like crane attached to the truck.”

“It’s really neat, isn’t it? Maybe we can get you another one and move your pottery stuff out of the garage.”

“Maybe if I really get into it one day.” Dean smiled. “It is cool.”

“Totally.” Sam nodded. “Oh, I met Holly’s mom!”

“Shut up, is she hot?”

“Yeah, she’s pretty cute. I’m going to invite them over for dinner next week.”

“I guess we should get used to them since they’ll be our in-laws one day.”

“Dean.” Sam laughed. “Come on, you know he’s going to forget all about her when we go back to Auldbrass for Thanksgiving. He’s only got eyes for you. He’s like me, you know?”

“Sammy, are you okay?”

“N…no.”

“Sam…Sammy, what’s…hey, come here.”

Something was really wrong because it was rare for Sam to tear up out of nowhere. Since he had done it just the other day about Chris, Dean honestly didn’t expect it to happen again for at least a month if not more. Sam got upset a lot because he was only human but it almost never just happened in the middle of what was a pretty normally conversation. When he got upset Dean was always expecting it. Either way he still knew what to do. He sat next to Sam and put his arm over his shoulder and gently stroked his back. He knew better than to ask again because when Sam really let loose there was no point in expecting coherent answers to questions.

“Shh.” Dean whispered. “Look at this whore. See him? He’s a whore.”

“I knew you wanted this cabin just to have a place to look at half naked pictures of dad.”

“See his happy trail?” Dean asked. “Makes me sick in a wonderful way.”

“He’s hot.” Sam smiled. “We have a hot daddy, just like our kids.”

“There’s my smile. What’s wrong, baby?”

“Dad said he…he knows there’s a good lawyer in town that handles divorces and he said that him and mom and Carol have a lot of problems that he doesn’t talk about and maybe he tried and we always just blow him off.”

“He said he was getting a divorce?”

“He said he’s looking at his options.” Sam sighed. “I thought it was just Carol, but it’s mom too. Carol more though.”

“Huh.”

Dean honestly didn’t know what to think about that. John and Carol getting a divorce wasn’t that big of a deal and while Dean would have been very upset he could see how two people might grow apart after a few years. John leaving Mary was something else entirely because she was his Sam and their relationship was so strong Dean thought nothing could come between them and certainly not some argument and hurt feelings.

“You know how much he loves Scrabble, right?”

“Yeah, of course.” Dean said. “He plays every night.”

“Well apparently…” Sam said before he sucked up his breath. “There’s some kind of convention or like the Scrabblelympics every year in the city and he really wanted to go this year. He said he’s been studying and he’s on all these word of the day email lists and he got a calendar.”

“It sounds pretty serious.”

“Carol told him that the people who do it are like professionals and he wouldn’t really place or win something I guess.”

“So he didn’t embarrass himself?”

“I don’t know.” Sam whispered. “I don’t know but if something meant so much to you I’d let you do it. I’d tell you that you could do it and…”

“Sammy…it’s uh…”

Dean took a deep breath and then held Sam tighter. He was really upset and his whole body was shaking while he cried. Carol was right and if John tried to compete with a bunch of Scrabble geeks the odds were definitely stacked against him, but it probably wasn’t about winning. Dean knew John pretty well and he probably just wanted to go to have fun and maybe have the kids cheer for him from the sidelines. Dean knew he would have cheered. He would have cheered his heart our for John even if he didn’t win, even if he made a fool of himself.

Once Dean imagined John doing all the prep work and he thought about what he might look like playing his heart out he completely got why Sam was so upset. Beneath everything John was just a really simple guy and all he needed to be happy was his family. Dean was the exact same way but he was so grateful that he had other things. He liked helping Sam in the garden or working on the car. He had other interests and Scrabble was John’s big thing, really his only big thing since he quit the FBI. Dean was still pretty pissed about Carol’s last insensitive comment and he only got angrier.

He was just furious with her and he really had no idea what the fuck her problem was. Dean was really tempted to march over to the house and demand to know what was going on, but of course she had taken off again to go back to her sister’s house. They had tried to talk to her on Monday but she was already gone. Screaming at someone over the telephone never did any good so Dean was just going to have to seethe until she got back.

“Is he going to go?” Dean asked. “We’ll go with him, we’ll all go.”

“He told me that she was right because he’s not as smart as the other people and he shouldn’t have thought he could do it because he didn’t go to college.”

“What did you tell him?”

“I said I knew someone who won the Newbery and never went to college. That it didn’t matter.”

“Sammy.” Dean smiled. “That’s sweet.”

Dean didn’t care that he never went to college when he was supposed to and if he hadn’t wanted to make Boy’s Town the best book it could be he wouldn’t have gone when he did. He was absolutely going to force the kids to go to college whether they wanted to or not but he realistically knew it had little to do with how intelligent someone was. Sam had gone and not graduated but that didn’t make a whole hell of a lot of difference in his life.

John hadn’t gone to college, but when he put his mind to something it got done. There was no one else Dean had ever met who could absorb information like John could. Maybe he wouldn’t know what all the words meant but Dean was certain he’d know how to spell them and where to put them to get the most number of points. Dean was going to make it his goal to encourage John to do the competition and if he couldn’t get through to him he was just going to have the kids guilt him into doing it.

That took care of one problem as far as Dean was concerned. John wanted to do something and they were going to give him the little boost he needed. They were going to support him no matter what happened because that’s what families did. The bigger problem was Carol turning into the world’s biggest and most insensitive bitch without any warning. Something was up with that and Dean just so happened to have a headquarters for solving mysteries. He even had Alex, who like Daphne, was a total cumwhore slut for brains.

“Why is she being such a bitch?” Dean asked. “I was shocked when she brought up the Stanford thing, but this is just…Sammy this isn’t like her at all.”

“Dad implied that he thought she was…seeing someone else.”

“Shut the fuck up!”

“Which may just be him seeing something that’s not there. I don’t see Carol cheating on dad. I don’t see mom allowing that to happen.”

“I bet it’s that Hector guy.”

“Who the fuck is that?”

“Apparently when she met dad she was just out of a relationship with a guy named Hector.” Dean said. “Who Bruce and Nick loathed. Bruce told me about him a while ago, he was apparently pretty sleazy and Carol thought he was just totally awesome.”

“That’s such a rapist name.”

“Right?”

“I just don’t know what to…oh shit.”

“What?”

“I’m sorry Dean.” Sam sighed. “I didn’t mean to come in here and unload all this bullshit on you. I just was at the store with dad and…”

“Sammy, don’t apologize for that. This is a huge deal and I don’t want you thinking when I’m out here that you can’t talk to me.”

“I know that, but this is your first day in The Honeybunch Hideout and I think this should be a bullshit free zone, at least for today.”

“I feel like I should go see dad.”

“Nope, he’s hanging out with Milo.”

“You mean Milo is backhanding him and yelling about you not being around?”

“No.” Sam smiled. “Milo knew he was upset and he’s been very attentive to his grandpa. He’s hanging out with them and seeing what’s going on with James.”

“Wow, that works.”

“I thought so.” Sam said before he looked around. “So if you’re twelve that makes me eight.”

“And far too young even for the patrons of this particular establishment.”

Dean didn’t really want to make the cabin a bullshit free zone because he still wanted to talk about John some more so they could make a plan. He would have enjoyed having sex with Sam to break the cabin in but it seemed a little selfish regardless of who was entertaining John or what he was talking to James about. Dean didn’t really know if he had it in him to have sex with Sam, but he was going to if that’s what he wanted, though eight was way too young. Sam was adorable at eight, but way off the menu for Dean.

“What’s your cutoff?”

“Do you really want to know?”

“Thirteen?” Sam asked. “Just barely a teenager.”

“Just so we’re clear I wouldn’t have done a butt when you were thirteen.” Dean said. “I’d just be into handjobs, and oral once or twice a week.”

“Wow, I just had the most delicious and disturbing visual.” Sam laughed. “But I think for right now you should stay twelve and I’ll be eight.”

“Sammy, I had no interest in you when you were eight.”

“I know that, Dean.” Sam smiled. “Why don’t we just do what we could have done when I was eight?”

“I wouldn’t have…Oh…Oh, well that can be arranged, Sammy.”

“Good.”

Sam pulled Dean’s arms around him and then settled back into his chest. They didn’t have sex and Sam really had to interest in it since he didn’t even bother to pitch a tent in his jeans. He just wanted to be held and though Dean had never done that when he was twelve years old he had wanted to more than anything. It wouldn’t have been sexual at all, they just would have been two brothers comforting each other and trying to stay close when something scary, confusing, and out of their control was happening around them.

Dean held Sam as tight as he could and stroked his hair, rubbed his stomach, and then finally kissed against his temples. Mikey did the same thing to Ollie when he was younger so Dean thought it was okay and Sam even drifted off to sleep in his arms. Dean stayed awake, though he could have napped, because he wanted to watch Sam sleep his cares away in The Honeybunch Hideout.

Aaron apparently felt like he had been around for long enough to take on Ollie. Either that or he was just plain stupid. Sam still wasn’t really sure what it was, but during dinner Ollie was going on and on about his girlfriend and Aaron made the rather serious mistake of saying he was interested in dating Dean. For the record just because Ollie had a girlfriend didn’t mean that Dean was back on the market, and Milo was apparently still his as well. There was a little confusion about John but as far as Sam could tell Ollie owned that ass only when there happened to be a sexy glasses present since there was no point in having him without the glasses.

“Wha!”

“I think I’ll date him now.” Aaron smiled. “What do you think about that!”

“Wha…wha…you don even know Aawon!”

“Oh geez.” Dean whispered. “Beanie, come on, like I’d date him, he’s not even…”

“You don even know who you steppin’ too!” Ollie screamed. “You don know!”

“Baby, he’s…”

“The Beans will handle it, daddy! You don even know!”

“Apparently I don’t know.” Aaron said. “I’ll have to look elsewhere for companionship.”

“Yah, why don’cha do that, Aawon! Ya don get Chawee or Ethan eitha!”

“Oh, man.” Mikey muttered. “Sometimes I just think about…”

Mikey trailed off into his red beans and rice and then kept his eyes down. The subject of his love life was never up for discussion but somehow it just kept coming up. Sam figured that in about another week Mikey would finally crack and either tell them nothing was going on with Charlie or that they were in love and planning on getting married. He was totally betting on the latter and hoping it didn’t take more than a week to admit to because Dean was going a little crazy.

After Ollie threatened and emasculated Aaron a little further he went back to his own red beans and rice but he was glaring a little bit as well. Normally Milo helped him out with that since he was the professional in the family, but he was far too busy with Mary trying to figure out what the hell was on their spoons. Sam hadn’t planned on red beans and rice but it was John’s favorite meal so he threw a pot on the stove. Because the babies were getting a little older Sam started a second pot just for them which was free of salt and spices.

He had actually tasted it and it wasn’t bad. It was bland obviously, but the mushy beans with the soft rice was a nice combination and the babies were loving it. Mary kept looking at the spoon Dean was feeding her with just to make sure she was getting big girl food and Milo was flirting more than usual after every bite. That might have had something to do with Sam sneaking kisses, but the food clearly wasn’t half bad.

The babies were happy with their food and Ollie loved putting someone in their place. Ethan and Evan had their class with Craig earlier so they were happy and even with the mention of Charlie, Mikey was still in his Juilliard stupor. Alex and Michael were smiling and whispering with each other and Jeremy seemed to be enjoying messing with Aaron a little more than usual on account of getting schooled by a chubby baby.

Everyone was pretty happy with the obvious exception of James and John. John was upset for the obvious reasons and Dean didn’t really help anything. Once they got back from the cabin he gave John a big hug and started crying while he told him how much they all believe in him and supported him. John didn’t really like when anyone big deal out of him and he hated to cause anyone to cry especially if that person happened to be Dean.

He brushed it off and told Dean everything would be okay and that their main concern had to be James. John had worked him over for a while and James eventually admitted in strictest confidence that he didn’t want to leave the house because they needed him. Apparently John wasn’t supposed to tell anyone so of course he told both of them the first chance he got. Dean had a long talk with James about how he had to do what was right, but it didn’t seem to make much difference because what was right to him was taking care of his family first and then himself.

If he had moved in with Ann he might not have been there on Friday when Jeremy needed his help. He couldn’t risk that so he was going to stay in the guest room until such time came that he felt everything was okay. Sam thought that was really nice, but at the same time it was like staying awake constantly on the off chance someone would break in. Ann didn’t live that far away and if they needed James he could get back to the house in under five minutes but that was far too long.

“Oh!” Evan yelled. “Daddy, did you hear about Craig?”

“I read something in a bathroom stall.” Dean said. “I called but nothing happened.”

“What?”

“Oh, nevermind.”

“Ignore him.” Sam laughed. “What about Craig?”

“He is moving in with Justin and Charlie!”

“Really?”

“Mmhmm.” Ethan nodded. “He was telling us today that he’s a lot closer now.”

“They’re moving in together?” Alex asked. “Justin didn’t say anything about that. Isn’t it a little soon?”

“They’ve been dating for a while.” Michael said. “I think it’s good. Mikey, doesn’t Charlie really like Craig?”

“Oh yeah, Craig’s really nice. He told me he’s really excited about it because Craig knows how to cook and he won’t have to eat pizza all the time. Oh, also apparently he apparently bought them a hamper.”

“He needs one.” Sam muttered. “Throwing his clothes all over the guest room like some kind of animal.”

“Sammy, you need to let it go, it was months ago.”

“I can’t!”

“Justin lived in your room, James.” Evan said. “Before you lived here, but after grandpa who lives in the basement now for some reason.”

“Yes, I remember.” James nodded. “Sam, the beans are wonderful.”

“Thank you.”

“They’re great, Sammy.” John smiled. “Good with the pork chops. Ain’t that right, pork chop?”

“Oh it is, gwampa, but we don tell Oinkahs!”

“That’s probably a good idea.” Dean laughed. “What about you two? Anything exciting happen.”

“Oh, yes, in fact something did! Today a man and woman came in to schedule their wedding. It was the first one I got and I really enjoyed talking to them about the future.”

“That’s cool.” Sam said. “You counsel them a little, right?”

“Just a little.” Aaron said. “Mostly it’s to find out about how they met, it’s not my place to interfere.”

“That’s really cool.” Dean smiled. “What about you Jer-jer?”

“I went to that restaurant diner with Derrick for lunch. Someone has to keep him company.”

“I am going to Yale!” Michael yelled. “I think I can be excused.”

“He cries everyday.” Jeremy frowned. “Now with Justin gone we don’t have anyone else to talk to, but I am helping out with hiring some new counselors and…I sort of have big news.”

“What is it?” John asked. “Tell us.”

“Well, I sort of rearranged my work schedule today. I’m only going to work until noon on Tuesdays and Thursdays from now on. I’ll keep the rest of the week the same, but I’m cutting back on two days.”

“Jeremy, that’s great.” Mikey said. “If you work too hard you’ll get so tired and then not do your best. That’s why I take breaks from my piano.”

“And dancing.” Ethan said.

“And making out wit daddy. Yes, The Beans owns daddy!”

“Then I’ll date your daddy Sammy.” Aaron said. “And you’ll just…”

“Wha! You know a love ‘em more than a moon!”

“Aww, baby, that’s sweet.” Sam smiled. “And Jeremy! You’re going to get a special dinner tomorrow. What’ll it be?”

“Steak!”

“Done!”

“See what I did there?” Jeremy whispered. “I used my good behavior to get you a delicious steak.”

“Perhaps I’ll be on my best behavior later on.” Aaron whispered back. “Or… otherwise.”

“Mmm hmm hmm.”

“Uh…” Dean said before he cleared his throat. “What?”

“Yeah, did I just…”

Sam wasn’t sure what the hell just happened but It certainly seemed like Aaron had just openly and publicly flirted back with Jeremy. That was some crazy shit right there and the kids, babies included, were looking at them like they were crazy. Sam didn’t know what that was about but it was very refreshing to see Jeremy and Aaron being a little cute with each other. It so rarely happened and while Sam respected their choice to keep it behind closed doors he was never going to complain about seeing two people in love.

Once dinner was over Dean and Alex were out the door in a second and Jeremy and Aaron tried to get out of there as well. Sam made them stay behind because he wanted to know what was going on and they had already promised to help gang up on James. Michael had already agreed to talk to John with the rest of the kids so everyone had a job but for some reason Dean thought showing off the hideout maybe the most important. Alex hadn’t seen it yet so they were probably going to be out there for an hour or more which was just fine, Dean had earned that.

“What’s with the flirting?” Sam asked. “You two don’t do that often.”

“We weren’t flirting.” Jeremy scoffed. “We were just talking. I know how much Aaron likes hot beef in his mouth.”

“And Jeremy’s just very nice for making that happen.”

“So you enjoy giving him oral sex.” James said. “I’ve often wondered if it’s as enjoyable to give it as it is to receive.”

“I’m talking about steaks.” Aaron said. “I don’t know what everyone else is talking about.”

“You like juicy beef, don’t you?”

“I like it tender and just a little pink.”

“Aaron!” Sam whispered. “What if God’s listening?”

“I hope he is.” Jeremy winked. “So he knows to close his eyes in about a half hour.”

“What do you two have planned!” James smiled. “A date?”

“I’m going to get him to sit on my face for a while and then I was thinking about fuc…making love for a while longer.”

“Dude.” Sam said. “Can I watch?”

“No, you may not.” Aaron laughed. “You may listen outside the window if you’d like.”

“Hot!”

“I think I’ll join you, Sam. We can listen to them fornicate while Dean and Alex play in their fort.”

“You.” Jeremy said before poking James in the chest. “Are going to call Ann and tell her you’re moving in this weekend.”

“Well, I was going to of course, but I really feel as if…”

“No. You’ve done more than enough for our family James. Nothing is going to happen if you’re not here and if we need you you’ll be close by. You’ll be here during the day taking care of the babies. Don’t deny yourself what you want because you’re worried about what other people want.”

“You don’t understand.”

“The hell I don’t.” Jeremy smiled. “Dean loves you. We all do, we’re always going to need you, we’re always going to want you around, but you can’t stay here if you’ll be happier there. I know you don’t want to hurt Dean, but if you stay here that’s what you’ll do.”

“He wants me around so much and…”

“James, he’ll be fine, I promise. He wants you to go, he wants you to be happy.”

Jeremy was probably the only person who would throw James’ biggest fear in his face to get him to do the right thing. James loved all of them, but there was something about Dean that made him hold him just a little bit closer. Sam assumed it was because they were so alike and he certainly wasn’t complaining about that. James was a great man and Jeremy had helped him see that he had to do what was best for him.

Dean was obviously going to pout a little and he was very honest about how much he wanted James to stay but he wanted him to be happy even more. The only thing that was really going to change was where James slept and ate dinner. He was going to come over as soon as Ann left for work and he’d go home at the end of the day. Dean wouldn’t have late night snacks of graham crackers with him anymore, but he could do that with John if he had to.

“I would like to wake up with her.” James smiled. “Make love before we go to bed.”

“She loves you so much, James.” Aaron said. “She deserves you as well.”

“I suppose I should phone her. Sam, you’ll…”

“I’ll make sure he’s okay. Don’t worry.”

“Thank you.”

That took care of one problem and though James was still terribly conflicted it was obvious he wanted to live with Ann. As soon as they had reassured him once again that everything would be okay his face lit up a little and when he walked out of the kitchen there was a little bit of a bounce to his step. With him taken care of Sam thought it best to move on to John and Carol. Clearly it was a bigger problem than Sam could handle with Dean alone. They needed some help and Jeremy was just the person to do it as long as he came up with a mojo free remedy.

Since John was just in the living room Sam had to be very quiet which didn’t do a damn bit of good because when the d-word came up Aaron actually gasped and Jeremy yelled. They waited a few seconds after that but John never came to investigate so Sam told the rest of the story including the little tidbit about Carol’s swarthy ex who may have been her current.

“That’s retarded.” Jeremy said. “Carol would never cheat on anyone.”

“Are you sure?”

“Her dad cheated on her mom all the time. There’s no way she’d do that. If she wanted to she’d tell him first.”

“I have to agree that the idea of her seeing someone else is more than a little far fetched.”

“What else could be going on?”

“Well…”

“What?” Sam asked. “Well, what?”

“You should tell him.” Aaron whispered. “Even if it turns out to be nothing.”

“Oh God.” Sam said as he sat down. “Is she evil?”

“No.” Jeremy laughed. “But um…I told dad this in January and I didn’t…I never wanted to talk to you two about it, but I sort of having a feeling that it’s not supposed to last with dad and Carol.”

“Excuse me?”

“Sam, I think stories about demons doing good deeds are just things we tell ourselves. James’ body was long gone when I brought him back, it wasn’t easy, but I did it. It makes me wonder why Mary came back in Carol.”

“Are you suggesting that…that dad and Carol were supposed to meet and fall in love and then…oh. If they broke up he’d really have no choice but to break up with mom as well.”

“Yeah.” Jeremy whispered. “I just don’t see her doing dad such a huge favor for free.”

“He’s known this since January and has never said anything?” Sam asked. “What’d he say when you told him?”

“That he’d love them both for as long as he can as best he can and that nothing was going to keep him from Mary.”

Sam shook his head and then put it in his hands. He really had to hand it to the demon because she put a hell of a lot of thought into her big plan. If it came down to divorce Sam knew that John and Mary would make a choice to let Carol do what she wanted. She didn’t ask to become involved in the world’s strangest threesome and if she couldn’t be with John anymore Mary was going to have to go with her. That was a big old screw you, one that Sam really couldn’t deal with.

“I think therapy.” Aaron said. “They need to talk to a professional and sort things out.”

“You think dad will go for that?”

“I’d hope he’d love them both enough to try.”

“This is my time to shine.” Jeremy said as he rubbed his hands together. “I’ll work on him and make sure he knows that therapy does wonders. I know some people in town that are great with couples.”

“Good, good.”

“Hey, dad?”

“Oh, hey Michael.” Sam said as he looked over. “What’s up?”

“Um, you know who just called about a top secret wink wink at you know where.” Michael said. “I’m assuming we’ll need some lube and maybe a towel?”

“Was this wink wink about both of us?”

“Mmhmm.”

“Alright.” Sam said as he stood up. “Aaron, you clean the kitchen, Jeremy, you work on dad.”

“Got it!”

Aaron always wanted to help clean up so he was just fine with cleaning the kitchen and Jeremy was really ready to talk some sense into John and then Carol. Sam was actually feeling pretty good about things because Carol and John really did love each other. There was a very good chance all they needed to do was talk through their problems with a professional. Carol would almost definitely be open to it and John would go along after a little prodding.

Michael seemed a lot more opinionated than Sam was about the clubhouse. He just thought Alex was the silliest man in the whole wide world, with Dean in a very close second. He got why they needed a place to be kids again and while they walked to the clubhouse he did admit that he was a little jealous because he didn’t have any spare time for such fun. He was way too busy being a college student, a cheerleader, almost president of the homo club, and best friend of a fairy. That made Sam mention that he didn’t care about the clubhouse either because he was too busy being a writer, model, chef, and professionally baby kisser. Dean and Alex could have their little clubhouse but Sam and Michael had way better things to do.

“I so do.” Michael scoffed. “Being a rah-rah ain’t easy.”

“Right?” Sam asked. “If I have to put on fancy clothes one more time…sheesh.”

“I know…”

“Are you as jealous as I am?”

“Yes!” Michael yelled. “We need to build a bigger and better clubhouse with a big sign that says “Hot Tops Only!””

“And I’ll play inside while you hang out in the yard or…what?”

“Dad!” Michael said before he hit him. “I’m a total top. Why just the other day I was pile driving him.”

“Hmm. Is that where the bruise on your forehead came from?”

“I fell out and hit the nightstand.” Michael frowned. “It hurt so bad.”

“Aww, baby!”

Sam hugged Michael extra close for the rest of the walk to the cabin. They were going to have to get a golf cart or something because it was just too far away. Dean was using his four wheeler, but that didn’t do anyone else any good if they so happened to be summoned. Sam had ideas about special camouflage golf carts, but he knew he didn’t have any say in the club so he wasn’t going to bring it up unless Dean asked.

After spending five minutes trying to figure out the secret knock the door finally opened and Sam stepped in with his arm still around Michael’s shoulder. It was dark out so the inside of the cabin was dark and only lit by a few candles. It was actually a little creepy, but Dean was there so Sam knew he’d be safe from dark magics.

“What’s going on with…”

“Silence!” Dean boomed. “For eons we have existed in secret cloaked in shadows and shrouded in mysteries.”

“Is that a case of Fun Dip!” Michael yelled. “I love that!”

“Silence He-Bitch!”

“What did you call me, Alex Watkins!”

“Dude, don’t call him a he-bitch.” Sam said. “Not cool.”

“Silence Man-Whore!”

“Hey!”

“Yeah, now I make the rules.” Alex giggled. “He-bitch and Man-Whore, what an unlikely pair!”

“He’s a total man-whore.” Dean whispered. “Tried to seduce me in here earlier.”

“Were ya’ll fartin’ in here?” Michael asked. “What did I tell you about that!”

“Baby, shut your sass hole.” Alex said. “We’ve called you here to this hallowed hall because you’ve been chosen to join the ancient and mystical society of…”

“The Smoking Ice Scorpions!”

“Pardon?”

“Smoking Ice Scorpions!” Dean said again. “That’s our gang name.”

“I thought we were The Sharks.” Alex said. “We agreed on The Sharks because of West Side Story.”

“Yeah, you’re already enough of a bottom without naming our gang after something from a musical.”

“But…”

“Shut it, Sondheim!” Dean yelled. “Freaking bottoms. Anyway, do you accept?”

“Do we get free use of The Honeybunch Hideout?”

“No.” Alex said. “Not at first. At first you’ll be on probation and being a member just means we won’t hit you with a bottle if we see you trespassing on our turf.”

“Your turf?” Michael asked. “Where’s that?”

“This entire street!”

“I own this entire street!” Sam laughed. “How you gonna steal my property?”

“You don even know!” Alex yelled. “You don even know who you steppin’ too!”

“That’s enough!” Michael said as he stomped his foot. “You’re coming home right now, mister.”

“The hell I am! I’m sleeping out here tonight. I’m tired of you and your frilly pillows.”

“Alex, I will do something awful!”

“I better go.” Alex whispered to Dean. “He seems pretty pissed off.”

“Dude, fuckin’ weak. Stand up to him! He’s a cheerleader for Christ’s sake!”

“Well, see when I do that he sort of…you know…you know!”

“Ah, he doesn’t let you please him orally. Say no more!”

“You’re a damn fool!” Michael said as he slapped Alex in the back of the head. “You gonna pay for calling me a he-bitch.”

“Yeah, in your butt.”

“Hey!”

Michael slapped Alex one more time and then shoved him out the door. Yet again Sam was alone with Dean in the top secret hideout. The candles were certainly a nice touch and thought it was sort of stuffy and there may have been some farting going on as a way of marking territory Sam still thought it was a little romantic.

“So if I was thirteen you’d just give me head once or twice a week?”

“Maybe three times.” Dean said as he crossed his arms. “Why do you ask?”

“How old would I have to be to return the favor?”

“At least legal.”

“Lucky for both of us.”

Sam got down on his knees but not before he grabbed a pack of Fun Dip. That little hard sugar stick was just a tease, so he threw it over his shoulder and managed to make due with what he had right in front of him. Dessert didn’t get much better than that and when it was Sam’s turn Dean gave all new meaning to the term Snack Cake.

Ollie and Holly are hysterical. Ollie just wants to try all that life has to offer, I guess, as long as he doesn't have to give up anything he already has!

Oh I do not want John and Carol splitting up. That would just suck for John and the boys and especially for Mary who is, literally, stuck in the middle. There must be something going on with Carol! I wonder if she just feels that John pays attention to his sons and grandkids and doesn't pay enough to her? I hope Jeremy can help them. That was so sweet when Dean just cuddled Sam like they were 8 and 12 again.

Dean and Alex are so regressed in that clubhouse. Good thing they have Sam and Michael to remind them how to be big boys again!

Sean and Dan make me really, really nervous. How is it that Sam, who was all feaked about them when J2 first started talking about them, forgot about it? And now he doesn't think it's out of the ordinary weird? And am I the only one thinking that this is a really bad time for James to be moving out?? eep!

Thanks for the chapter :-)

Awwww, so sweet but I think Dean and Alex should keep Sam and Michael out. A man has got to have some place to fart and act stupid.

I hope we get Carol's/Mary's side of this mess soon. So far all we've heard from is John and no marriage or divorce is completely one-sided. Granted, he should participiate in things like the Scrabble tournament is he wants but he could have easily misconstrued what Carol said either accidentally or to gain sympathy. So I'm holding all judgment until we hear from the 2 women.

And does Ollie like own everyone and everything in the world? So far, he's laid claim to Holly, Dean, Sam, Milo and John if he's wearing his glasses. Poor baby is in for a rude shock one of these days. :(

Divorce seems a little drastic. Couldn't they just live apart for a while? But I suppose if it's not meant to be, it's not meant to be.
Ollie at the dinner table was totally adorable with his laying claim to practically every male in the house. It will be sad when he gets older and out grows his urges. Can we maybe arrange a time warp or something and keep him this age forever?

Ollie and Holly, what a truly inspired pairing. I defy anyone not to giggle madly whenever they meet up. Ollie is so slick with her Mom and calling Holly 'baby'.

As much as I'm a John fan, I'm still curious to hear Carol's side of things. There must be more going on here than meets the eye, especially as it was a demon that put Mary where she is. Could Carol be being influenced somehow to put John in the position where he has to split with Mary?

I want me a Honeybunch Hideout!

I think I've said this before, but it's great to see you addressing the problems, or potential problems, in John/Carol/Mary's relationship. A threesome in two bodies is inherently complex, and you haven't explored that yet. Looking forward to it! I trust you to fix everything in the end.

eep! I'm worried for John and Carol&Mary - although maybe they do all need closure.

I LOVE the clubhouse, it's awesome (can I have one?)
