Hey.

My computer crashed last night...actually crash may be putting it lightly, it all but exploded. Not how I was hoping to spend my day off but still...I suppose i needed some more shit to deal with. Anyway, I did manage to save tomorrow's story to my flash drive before the crash and all my stories are backed up on that drive and my external hard drive but I don't have Word yet and Windows Vista makes me feel like my eyes are bleeding out of my skull so I can't imagine that's conducive to me writing.

Anyway, this is just an update in case you don't hear from me for a while, but in all likelihood I'll be better and more equipped after a nap and a gigantic cookie.

I find many things are better after a nap and a gigantic cookie. Windows Vista may not be one of them, but I hope that things get better. Good luck in dealing with it all!

Gah! Far from ideal - hope it hasn't caused you too much hassle on the 'real life' front.

Windows Vista is enough to make anyone's eyes bleed out of their skull :( Good luck with the computer rescue!

If you don't mind trying something new - and, unlike MS Office, FREE - try Open Office. I use it exclusively for years, love it and find it better than MS version.

Looks the same, works better, at least for me.

Glad you have everything in storage, babe, would be really bad for all of us if ANYTHING is lost.

Oh Adam! That sucks honey! At least you were able to save your stories. (btw, googledocs is just like word and you can save to a word file. it's how i copy my fics from online to word since word mac doesn't keep the formatting like italics and bold etc which is really annoying but anyway...)

Have as many gigantic cookies as you want!! Sorry to here that your computer exploded 8\ !!! I plugged in an old karaoke machine the other day, I heard a pop and then it started smoking and I decided that that was going in the trash, lol.

I'm so happy all your stories were backed up!

Ackk!! Tragedy strikes! But you sound quite chipper about the whole thing so that's a positive. Take it easy.
As for Vista - I quite like it now but it did take a while and still has annoying quirks that frustrate the freckles off me. Good luck.

Vista needs to die in a fire. My sympathies. If you get OpenOffice instead of Word, O/O Writer can open .doc files and convert them to .rtf or .odf. The formatting isn't messed up or anything, if you wanted to get out of Bill Gates' evil MS Office clutches.
